Golfing Travel Tips

Handy hints when travelling with Goode Golf Tours.

Tips for Hua Hin, Thailand

Clothing:

Climate is tropical so shorts/dresses and t-shirts/polo shirts are best.

Golfing attire required is the same standard as most Australian clubs.

Away from the golf course, no formal attire is necessary unless you have specific plans.

We recommend packing just 3 pairs of golf shorts and 3 golf shirts as laundry services are quick and cheap.

Golf:

4/6 gloves are advisable in this climate.

Carts and caddies are included in your package, unless otherwise specified.

Caddies expect a tip at the conclusion of your round, usually about 300—400 Thai Baht.

Show the caddies respect.  If you think the caddie is giving you suspect advice, such as putting line, take responsibility and make your own decisions. The caddies are generally well qualified to read the grain, which is very important here.

Shopping:

Apart from normal shops in the streets and a number of night markets, Hua Hin Village Shopping Centre has many stores including well-known international brands and bargain basement shops. The first floor also has an outstanding electronics store and many themed restaurants.

Massage:

There are many massage centres available in the streets or the hotel.  These are great after a hard day of golfing. We recommend Siam Massage which you will find almost opposite the Hilton Hotel.

Transport:

The Centara Hotel is well located within easy walking distance of shops, markets, cafes, etc. Tuk tuk is the best mode of transport for further distances. You can usually find tuk tuks lined up at the exit of the hotel. The cost is 100-150 Thai Baht per tuk tuk (not per person).
